ATHENS-Fall’s fingers are grazing across Athens as volunteers decorate the downtown in pumpkins and cornstalks.
The Athens Saturday Market is part of this seasonal change with the hosting of a Fall Market on Oct. 12 from 4-8 p.m.
Spirit of Athens Director Trisha Black said children can experience autumn fun with marshmallow roasting, ghost story telling and face painting.
“We have vendors who will have produce, Halloween items and pumpkin-flavored treats,” Black said.
Market Committee Chairwoman Laurie Glenn said Picasso’s Grill will cook hamburgers and hot dogs.
“Folks will want to stick around and enjoy an autumn evening in our beautiful downtown,” Glenn said.
