  Faye Hunt Thompson, age 92, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on April 2, 2025. She was born on February 8, 1933, to Lilly and Claude Hunt in Sheffield, Alabama.

Faye was a proud member of the Coffee High School Class of 1951 and a 1952 graduate of Larimore Business College. After completing her education, she worked for many years at Reynolds Metal Company in the Research and Development Division, from which she retired.

Faye and her husband Leonard, loved living life together. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Stephen and Matthew, and a cherished member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Faye had a true love for her family. She found joy in gathering around the dinner table, sharing stories, and talking about the events of the day. She had a passion for traveling, reading, exploring the Natchez Trace, and watching her favorite TV shows, always eager to experience new adventures and learn more about the world.

Faye is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Thompson, son Matthew Thompson, daughter-in-law Luann Thompson, parents Claude & Lilly Hunt, brothers C.H. and Grover Hunt, and sister Lila Hunt Paper.

Faye leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom. She is survived by son Stephen Thompson. Grandchildren: Anna Catherine (Dustin) Riley and their children Brantley, Maggie, and Aubree; Hillary (Andy) Hines and their children Georgia and Annie; Nick (Jessica) Cumings and their children Wyatt, Jordin, and Aubree; Erica (Willy) Martinez and their children Antonio, Dominic, Juliana, Luca, and Areli. Special friend Patty Danley and family Jason, Ava, and Chase.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 7 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Greenview Memorial Park and Funeral Home 3657 Old Chisholm Rd., Florence, AL 35633. The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 8 at 11 am at Greenview. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
