Fadden To Address International Economic Development Council

FLORENCE – University of North Alabama College of Business’ Janyce Fadden will speak at the 2018 International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Annual Conference in Atlanta in late September. Approximately 1,100 leaders in the field of economic developers are expected to attend the four day conference. 

 

The theme of the conference is Inclusive Economic Development: Fulfilling Dreams. Fadden will be speaking on the topic Supporting Rural Entrepreneurs. Her talk will focus on home grown business development in rural communities that require a risk-taking spirit supported by community values and programs.

 

The IEDC is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization serving economic developers, and with more than 5,000 members the IEDC is the largest organization of its kind.

 

Fadden serves as the Director of Strategic Engagement for UNA’s College of Business. She is a key leadership director of Shoals Shift, an initiative that UNA and the Shoals Business Incubator co-manage through a Partnership for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization grant funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission. The Shoals Shift project team implements pathfinder projects to advance the region’s digital technology competitiveness. Her role includes leading Strategic Doing, an asset based collaborative process, and implementing an innovation pipeline strategy to enhance economy of the three state region served by the university.
