TUSCUMBIA – It was a pretty devastating scene this morning on Alternate Highway 72 this morning about 9:30… Several motorcycles were riding together to grab some breakfast when one of their small group was killed in a traffic accident.

According to Chief Tony Logan, Leland Rea, 63, of Russellville was fatally injured when his motorcycle was rear ended at what police are describing a high rate of speed by the Ford pickup truck. The driver of the F150 did not appear to be seriously injured, although the bumper and front of the vehicle were heavily damaged. He was taken to Keller Hospital for evaluation and tests. The pickup driver was not identified by police.

The accident is under investigation any charges, if any, are pending.

How can the truck driver possibly avoid being charged with vehicular manslaughter? If charges are not brought my riding days are over in this state. Too many idiots in cars to keep track of.
