Exie Mae Thompson, age 86, of Detroit, AL passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Detroit Church of God, with burial to follow in Carter Cemetery, Bro. David Gifford and Bro. Aaron Gann to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.

Exie Mae Herron Thompson was born on July 26, 1933 in Sulligent, AL, to the late Grady Herron and Alma Harper Herron. She owned and operated Detroit Café and Hershel’s Service Station. Exie was a Charter member of the Detroit Church of God. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her family, shopping, and working with flowers.
