Mr. Everette Carl Womble, 85, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C. and a resident of Florence, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.
He retired as a Southeast Regional Manager from Electrolux Corporation after 42 years. Everette gave an example of a well lived life filled with love, play, family, friends and church.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Elkins Funeral Home on Saturday
from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Rhea and the Rev. Andy Fogle officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Mayfield Womble; his daughter, Vickie Merritt and husband, David; extended family members, Wanda Bishop and husband, Keith, Donna Shaw and husband, Darren, and Chris Curtis; as well as numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Dry Womble; and his son, Mark Carl Womble.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Orphanage/Methodist Home for Children, 515 McKirkland Court No. 43, Cary, N.C. 27511.
Pallbearers will be David Merritt, Chris Merritt, Michael Womble, Chris Curtis, John Posey and Tom Straun. Honorary pallbearers will be John Fisher, Lee Makington and James “Trip” Triplett and the Men’s Sunday School Class No. 3 at Woodmont Baptist Church.
The family offers heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hobbs, to Nancy and Christy and to Hospice of North Alabama.
