ATHENS-This weekend in Athens there will be three fun and educational evnts to help kick off the warm weather season:

At 9 a.m., the groundbreaking ceremony for the Alabama Veterans Museum’s Military Park on Pryor Street (Contact is Sandy Thompson, museum director, 256-771-7578)

From 10 a.m. – until, the Caring for the Community event at 1056 Brownsferry St. with BBQ, music, bounce house and live band (contact number 256.874.2116)

Starting at 3 p.m., Ubora Fest at Athens State University ballroom with a play, vendors, food and dance (contact is Jerome Malone, 256-874-4517)
