ATHENS-A list of upcoming events in Athens for the week of July 11 through 16th.  Something for everyone!
Trinity Equestrian Center's FAMILY FUN FEST - Around the 715 Trinity Fun Fest – The Athens-Limestone Community Association is hosting these this week to give students and the public the opportunity to learn more about the historic site. The Trinity site is a Civil War site and was the site of the only all-black junior high and high school in Limestone County until integration in 1970. Right now they have activities lined up starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the 12th,  Saturday the 15th and possibly July 21st.
  The Athens Police Dept. is hosting a golf tournament fundraiser for its Reserve Unit. That will be Thursday at Canebrake. Lunch is at 11:30 and they’ll start at 1 p.m.
  singing-on-the-square - Visit Athens AlabamaSinging in the Park is Friday at 6 p.m. at the Duck Pond. Tourism oversees this event. Dean will perform. There will be food trucks as well. Tourism contact: teresa@visitathensal.com. The rain location will be McCandless.
  Mud Volleyball For A Cure Returns To Limestone County In July - Quad Cities  DailyVolleyball, a fundraiser for County for a Cure’s Relay Team, will be Saturday at the Swan Creek Park on U.S. 31. Teams will compete in the mud to support the fight against cancer. The public is welcome to watch. It will kick off about 8 a.m.
Athens Farmers Market Farmers Market will be open at the Green Street pavilion on Saturday from 8-12. There will be fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, etc.
