Evelyn McDougal Franks, age 76, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. Visitation will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. to noon at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary, with Brother Bud Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Franks was a member of Lane Springs Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Franks; parents, Casey and Louella McDougal; brothers, Charles, Howard and Alton McDougal; and sisters, Roselle McDougal and Eva Tingle.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne Franks (Sheila) and Kenneth Franks (Janice), of Cherokee; daughters, Bonnie Murray (Sammy), of Tuscumbia, Carolyn Durham (Kenneth), Janet Cunningham (Carl) and Dina Clement (Joe), all of Cherokee, and Charlotte Pruitt (Johnny), of Dennis, Mississippi; brothers, Roy McDougal, Troy McDougal and Ray McDougal, all of Tuscumbia; sisters, Fay Bevis Burnett, of Cherokee, and Vernice Powers, of Tuscumbia; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Louablle, and her cats, Flip and Flop.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joshua Clement, Justin Clement, Ethan Franks, Nick Franks, James Durham, Matthew Robbins and Curtis Franks.
She loved to ramble with her sister, Fay.
