YN2 Evelyn Marie (Erickson) Foster USNR, 96 of Daphne, Al. formerly of Rogersville Al, passed away on 4 Nov, 2016, one day after her 96th birthday. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years, RMC Joseph Miles Foster, USN, and survived by her two sons, Thomas W Foster (Martha) and Larry A Foster (Louise), Grand daughters Allison Foster Edwards (Kelly), Caroline Foster, Katie Foster Linville (Trevor), Sarah Foster, and one great grand daughter Kaitlin.
Evelyn was born in Lane, South Dakota, on 3 November, 1920. She joined the Navy in 1943 and served until her marriage to Miles in 1946. She very much enjoyed the life of a Navy Wife and lived in the Panama Canal Zone, Norfolk, Va, Quonset Pt, Rhode Island, Buxton, NC, Corpus Christi, Tx, and Huntsville, Al. Upon retirement, she and Miles moved to Rogersville, Al where she resided until moving to Florence and finally to Daphne, Al. She was a member of Spanish Fort Church of Christ and formerly of Jackson Heights Church of Christ and Rogersville Church of Christ.
She will be remembered as a caring, loving Christian woman as well as a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016, 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 2 PM with Herschel McFarlen officiating. Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery with Military Honors.
