Evelyn Latham Banks, age 83, passed away at her residence on Wednesday May 7, 2025.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Terry Zane Quillen, husband Virgil Ray Banks, and son Jeffrey Quillen.
She is survived by her sons Terry Quillen (Carla), and Randy Quillen (Jenny), grandchildren Jeffery Quillen, Ashley Michels (Jay), Shea Day (Shelby), TJ Quillen (Keri), Ariel Quillen, Rhea Quillen (Braydon), Kate Quillen, and Abbie Quillen, great grandchildren Summer Day, and Seth Day, and great, great grandchild Arlo Gay
Evelyn worked for years at Arrow shirt factory until it closed while working weekends as a nursing aid. When the factory closed, she went back to school and got her nursing degree and continued to work with the elderly community at Ridgewood and Shadescrest Healthcare. Evelyn loved canning, gardening, and flowers and she had a green thumb. Her passion was her African Violets. She was an amazing cook and loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was a social butterfly who loved to talk. Evelyn was a creator of beautiful quilts that she distributed in the form of baby quilts and gifts, passed on to many family members and that will be cherished by her children and grandchildren. This sweet lady had many gifts but the most precious and treasured was the love of her children and grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Memory Gardens.
