F.11.15.18 Evelyn Edwards.jpegEvelyn LaNita Edwards passed away October 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, P. Kelsey Sockwell and LaVita S. Sockwell; her brother, Paul Sockwell; and her husband, John Edwards (the love of her life). Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Tammy Ratliff and spouse Andrew, Debbie Baker and spouse Dave; her sons, John Kevin McMinn and spouse Kathy, Mike McMinn and spouse TJ; 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

She will forever be remembered for her love of family and friends, her generous heart and open door, and never forgetting a birthday card. She was known as Mom and Grandma Blondie to so many, and she made all her friends and family feel like her “favorite.”

Though she lived in the Pacific Northwest for the last 12 years, she was born and raised in the South and remained true to her roots her entire life. She was the epitome of a Southern lady, her strong will tempered by a velvet glove. She was often complimented on her fabulous hair.

Evelyn’s visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. with her grandson, Derek Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tyler Baker, Eric Ratliff, Michael McMinn, Johnny McMinn, Josh Emory and Riley Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearer Jace McMinn.
