Evelyn Landman Held of Huntsville passed away Tuesday November 29, 2022. Evelyn was born November 26, 1930, to Howard F. and Gertrude Monk Landman. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; sister, Minnie Ballard; brother in-law, Willis Ballard; and her partner of 40+ years, Susan Miller.

She is survived by her nephews, Stephen Ballard of Dublin OH, and Philip Ballard (Bertha) of Columbus, OH; great niece, Heather Baker (Jeremy) of Westerville, OH and great-great niece, Kara Francis.

Evelyn was a graduate of Huntsville High School and Jefferson Hillman Nursing School in Birmingham. She joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Corona California and U.S.S Haven Hospital Ship. Evelyn returned to Huntsville and retired from the Huntsville Library. Evelyn enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, camping, playing poker with friends and taking care of her dogs. Evelyn loved all animals and gave to many charities.

A special thank you to Louise Cates, Byron Creek, Gayle Knuckles, Donna Cooper, Natalie and Michael with Huntsville Hospice and many others for their care and compassion for Evelyn.

Per Evelyn’s wishes there will not be a service.
