Evelyn Hill Weaver, age 95, of Florence, formerly of Oneonta, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017. Her funeral was held Sunday, April 2nd, at Taits Gap Baptist Church in Oneonta, with Brother Neal Whited officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Davis, Ethan Hallmark, Jeff Hill, Scott Hill, Gary Hill, and Tim Galloway.
Evelyn was a native of Oneonta, and had resided at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center in Florence the past six years, where she was cared for so lovingly. She was the oldest member of Tait’s Gap Missionary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years. While living in Florence, she had attended Christ Chapel. She was an avid embroiderer and enjoyed reading and quilting.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Arlin Weaver; parents, Eujester and Alice Braswell Hill; brother, Wilburn Hill; sisters, Thelma Lou Nash Bowie and Imogene Whited.
Survivors are her son, Larry Weaver; daughter, Patti Davis (David), Florence; grandchildren, Missy Hallmark (Chris) and Brian Davis (Amy); great-grandchildren, Ethan Hallmark, Jessica Hallmark, Sophie McLeod, Lily McLeod.
