Evelyn Grace Johnson, 84, of Cherokee passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 2nd from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. George Henley officiating.
Evelyn was a native of Elmsett, Suffolk, England and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Bill Green; grandson, Josh Lofton; and son-in-law, Tim Robinson.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert D. Johnson; sons, Robert D. Johnson, Jr. (Fran), Thomas A. Johnson (Tina), and Steven W. Johnson (Debra); daughters, Vivian May Stephenson (Robert Woodward), Gerreen Evelyn Lofton (Frank), Susan J. Robinson, and Janet J. Henley (Tommy); thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Shoals, especially, April and to Dr. Flora Kayfan.
