Evelyn G. Witcher, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born December 13, 1933, to Jim and Emma Turner Smith. She was a factory worker and homemaker, and she owned and operated Witcher Trucking. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she enjoyed working with the kids in the Disciples in Training program.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with the Rev. Ronnie Goodwin and the Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Witcher (Mary) and Ronnie Witcher, both of Mantachie; one daughter, Angie Eaton (Jack) of Tremont; a son she raised, Cameron Fennell of Byhalia; seven grandchildren, Michael Allen Witcher, Brandon Witcher, Jake Mitchell, Andrea Barber, Jessica Miller, Justin Pitts, and Krissy Howell; 15 great-grandchildren; special friends, Eddie and Karrie Kines of Scurry, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lea Roy Witcher; one brother, James Smith; two sisters, Sue Cantrell and Jonnie Smith; a great-grandson, Dawson Howell; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be Gayle “Mule” Reynolds, Michael Witcher, Brandon Witcher, Jake Mitchell, Cameron Fennell, and Doug Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Danny Smith, Roger Williams, Bronson Fennell, Chuck Miller, and Chris Howell.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the funeral home.
