Evelyn Cheplen, a longtime resident of Huntsville passed away in her home on November 9. Evelyn was a devoted mother and loving wife. Evelyn spent her career in real estate sales and enjoyed traveling to many different places, both domestic and abroad. Evelyn was a 1984 graduate of Athens State University with a B.S. degree.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Jill Sommers of Toney; sons, Tim Cheplen of Huntsville, and Mark Cheplen of Rock Hill, South Carolina; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the Cheplen family will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 18 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at the Church of the Nativity in Huntsville.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the Church of the Nativity of which Evelyn was a longtime member.
