Evelyn Beard Terry, 69, a most beloved wife, mother, Grammer and Mur Mur, passed away peacefully, May 22, 2016, with her family by her side in Lawrenceburg, TN.
She was born November 30, 1946, to Milton and Clayton Beard. Evelyn married David Terry on December 18, 1965. Together they raised sons Chandler and Parker.
Evelyn received a Masters of Science in Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She passionately taught elementary school for 30+ years and retired from Virginia Run Elementary in Fairfax County, VA. Evelyn was an active member of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church and served God through worship, committee membership and her labor. She loved gardening, exercising, and entertaining at the barn. Above all, she was devoted to her family; husband, children and grandchildren.
Evelyn courageously battled stage 4 pancreatic cancer for four months.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, David Terry; sons, Chandler (Jessica) Terry of Chantilly, VA; Parker (Kimberly) Terry of Warrenton, VA; 5 precious grandchildren, Cameron, Harper, Gavin, Cooper, and Eli; her sister, Glenda (Sonny) Killen of Lawrenceburg, TN; niece, Jana Killen; nephew, Joey (Barbara) Killen; great-nephews, a great-niece, and numerous cousins. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Clayton Peppers Beard.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:30 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2016, with Rickey Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
