It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Barnett Cobb Spraggins announce her passing on November 21, 2021, at the age of 85 years. Evelyn passed peacefully in Lake Worth, Florida where she resided at the time of death.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children, Priscilla Anderson, Jimmie Huckaba (husband Allen), Christie Prentice, Eddie Cobb (wife Robin), and Stacie Vickroy (husband Sam); 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Evelyn was predeceased by her former husband, Charles Cobb and subsequent husband, Otis Spraggins; her parents, William Barnett and Lillian Wilson Barnett; siblings, Opal, Ralph, Jack, and Alfred; and one son, Thomas.
Evelyn was born on May 2, 1936, in Goodspring, Tennessee and lived the majority of her life in either Lawrence or Giles County, Tennessee before relocating to Lake Worth, Florida late in her life. She was a strong Christian woman and a former member of Ethridge United Methodist Church. Those closest to Evelyn knew that she always believed in working hard, being responsible and resilient, putting family first, having faith in God, and the Golden Rule. Evelyn consistently demonstrated these values as a homemaker and retired factory worker. She will long be remembered for being a resilient Christian woman who never failed to carry herself with grace.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Sunday, December 05, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 05, 2021, with Bobby Gobble officiating.
