Evalyn Lorene Elliott Emerson, 89 of Ardmore, AL died on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Limestone Health Facility in Athens, Alabama.
Born Sunday, June 7, 1925 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Ras Elliott and the late Lizzie Reece Elliott. She was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area and was a member of Mays Memorial Baptist Church.
She loved flowers, gardening, cooking, music, and sewing. She ws preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Thomas Edward Emerson, and sons: Granville Emerson and Daniel Emerson.
Surviving are son, Clayton & Janice Emerson of Ardmore, AL, daughter, Rachel & Mike Mayes of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren: Jackie, Shane, Josh, Marty, Mike, and Angela, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
