Mrs. Evajean Duke Johnson, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2021, in Southaven, Mississippi. Mrs. Johnson, the widow of Johnny Hickman Johnson, was born August 6, 1933, to the late Ellis Duke and Vernie Hays Duke. She was a resident of Collierville, Tennessee, and had retired from Kellogg.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed travelling, dancing, and playing bingo, and was a very loving and caring person. She loved to cook, and everyone bragged on her cooking.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son, Larry Johnson (Carolyn); a daughter, Diane Trubic (Mark); two sisters, Evelyn Middleton and Carlene Derryberry; three grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Erin Johnson, and Lauren Trubic; and six great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clois Duke and Lenois Duke.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 15, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Union Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 noon until time of service.
