Eva Zane Turbyfill, 90, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Vista East Hospital. She was born in Rienzi, MS to James Joseph and Alma Ballard Hastings.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 8, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Jackie Hastings officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 8, 11-1 at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pilot Hill Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Donnie Castleberry (Renora); grandchildren, David Castleberry (Staci), Kimberly Castleberry and Paige Castleberry; great-grandchildren, Taylor Castleberry and David James Castleberry; sisters, Faye Petree and Glenda Mills and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Turbyfill; parents; sisters, Willie Jo Orzechowski, Ripple James and Brenda Taylor and a brother, Jimmy Ray Hastings.
