Euna Belle (McKee) Springer – Obituary

Euna Belle (McKee) Springer, age 97, of Killen passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, August 6, 2012, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Spry~Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The service will be Tuesday, August 7, 11:00 AM in funeral home chapel, with Bro. Gregg Woodard officiating, Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. She was a 1933 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, she earned her B.S. degree from Florence State Teachers College. Her first three years of teaching were in Morgan County (Rocky Ford) a “ one teacher” classroom, she taught at Whitehead for the next ten years – serving as principle for three years. She taught at Killen Elementary (now Brooks) for twenty one years until retirement. Pallbearers will be Herman Graham and Terry Hendon; Grandsons, Chad Springer, Chris Springer, Roddy Springer and Great Grandson, Dre’ Rickard Honorary Pallbearer will be Andrew Springer presently serving in Afghanistan. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. (Tad) Springer, parents, Robert Alonza McKee and Mary Alice Favors. Brothers and sisters, Hollis McKee, Ophelia Richardson, Jesse McKee, Bill McKee and Auvin McKee. Survivors include: Sons: Rodney Lynn Springer and Janice of Florence Gregory Keith Springer and Brenda, Killen Barry Wade and Carlotta Stephens – Springer of Memphis 5 Grand children, 7 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. We appreciate the love and care given to her when she was a resident of the Hilltop. Thanks so much to Dr. Webb and all the nurses at Hospice of the Shoals. Lisa Chandler and Debbie Collins were so kind. A special thank you to care givers Tiffany Morrow, Melinda Burbank and Patricia Burbank. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude or Hospice of the Shoals.
