Mr. Eugene Griep, age 73 of Amber Lane, Guntersville, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at Creek Path Baptist Church, Guntersville. Bro. Rick Douglas and Bro. Keith Dodd will be officiating. Eulogies will be given by John Beck and David Saliba. Interment will follow at 2:30 in Jacksonville City Cemetery, Jacksonville, Alabama. He will lie-in-state from 10 – 11 on Monday at the church McRae Funeral Home, Boaz, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Griep was born in Guntersville, Alabama on June 9, 1941 to Alfred & Gladys Hill Griep. He was a retired teacher and coach.
Mr. Griep is survived by his Wife: Sherry Griep of Guntersville, Son & Daughter-in-Law: Casey & Jill Griep of Albertville, Step-sons: Chris & Tammy Head of Albertville and Scott & Missy Head of Huntsville, Grandchildren: Olivia Griep, Leighton Griep, Landry Griep, Mary Scott Head, David Head, Amy & Richard Peek and Trevor Holliday, Great Granddaughter: Lyla Holliday, Brother: Michael Griep of Tennessee and Sister: Barbara Pruitt of Guntersville. Mr. Griep was preceded in death by his first wife: Linda C. Griep and his Parents: Alfred & Gladys Griep.
Pallbearers will be John Beck, Neil Riggins, Andy Lee, Roy Fulmer, Kevin Hawk, Chris Head, Scott Head and Mark Lingerfelt.
