Eugene E. King – Obituary

Eugene E. King, age 96, Haleyville, AL. passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015. Eugene served in the United States Army during WWII as the rank of Sgt., during his time in the United States Army he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, European African Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. He was member of American Legion, member of First United Church in Haleyville, retired Electrician with TVA, and belonged to the IBEW Local 558.

His visitation will be on Friday December 4, 2015 from 12:00Noon – 2:00PM at First United Methodist Church in Haleyville, with his funeral at 2:00PM at the church, with Rev. Russell Hestley officiating, burial to follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Gene King (Donna), Freda King Crumpton (Ronald) and John Lyle King; grandchildren, Melani Crumpton Smith (Greg), Tim Crumpton (Jessica), Lauren King Connolly (Adam), Caroline Elizabeth King and William Thomas King; great grandchildren, Timothy Noah Crumpton, Camden McGregor Smith, Hadley McCall Smith, Millicent Grace Crumpton, Jedediah Owen Crumpton, Hazel Elizabeth Connolly and Charles Joseph Connolly.

He was preceded in death by his parents,, Jasper Monroe King and Donny Idella Baccus King; sister, I.V. King, granddaughter, Ronda Annette Crumpton; wife, Mary Ida Lyle King.
