Eudie Louise Murphree, 91 of The New Home Community of Holly Pond, died Monday November 7, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center North.
Mrs. Murphree was born December 17, 1924 in Blount County, Alabama to Oliver Townson and Mattie Lou Atchley Townson. She worked as a cook in various restaurants until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, quilting, and canning.
She attended Roswell Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Murphree is survived by her children: Austin and Valery Murphree, Bennie O. and Mary Murphree, Margaret and Billy Clark and Shirley and Roy Gardner; fourteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law: O.C. and Sarah Townson and Ray and Rhonda Townson; sisters: Velma Kelsoe and Faye Netherton. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jessie James Murphree; her son: Bobbie Joe Murphree and two brothers: Ovis Townson and Odis Townson.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother: Steve LeCroy and Brother: Thomas Murphree officiating. Burial will be in Roswell Creek Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Tuesday November 8, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
