Ethel Peters, 94, passed away August 16, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi Hospice Care in Oxford. She was a native of Cherokee, Alabama and she spent her later years in Oxford and Water Valley, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee from 1:00 p.m. until 2. Graveside service will be at Barton Cemetery at 2:30p.m. with Bro. Rod Stansky officiating.
She was preceded in death by her grand-daughter, Jaime Ridge.
She is survived by a sister, Era H. Hawkins, a son, James T. Ridge (Kaye), and a daughter, Ellen Williams (Charlie). She is survived by 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Ridge, Robert Lomenick Jr (Sarah Rose), and John Travis Lomenick (Megan) and 2 great-grandchildren, Hudson and Jules. She was beloved by her family, including many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peters, an avid reader, passed her love for literature to her children and grandchildren. Her wit and humor will be missed by those who knew her.
