Ethel Marie Jean With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ethel Marie Jean, who left this world on February 26, 2025, at the age of 87. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of so many with her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.

Born on November 19, 1937, Ethel grew up with a deep appreciation for family and community. She dedicated her life to those she loved, always offering a helping hand and a warm heart. Whether through her words of wisdom, acts of kindness, or the meals she lovingly prepared, she had a special way of making everyone feel cherished.

Ethel had a passion for working in her yard and tending to her beautiful flowers. She found joy and peace in nature, always making sure her home was surrounded by vibrant blooms. She also loved square dancing, a hobby that brought her happiness, friendships, and wonderful memories throughout the years.

Ethel is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Edger (Robbie); her brothers, Randy Yancey, Jackie Yancey, and Terry Yancey; and her sister, Kay Burke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Jean; her sisters, Nell Johnson, Sue Pridmore, and Joan Williams; and her brothers, Gene Yancey, Robert Yancey, Tony Yancey, and Wayne Yancey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Berryhill Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Ethel’s love, laughter, and wisdom will remain in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
