Esther Lee Porter, age 90, Russellville, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Florence Nursing & Rehab Center.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Spruce Pine Cemetery.
She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Porter, Jim Porter; 6 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Odom (wife, Carolyn), sister, Jean Smith; and a host of nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Porter; parents, James Odom, Kittle McCollum; sisters, Geneva Dunn, Vernell Smith, Frances Pounders; and brothers, L.C. Odom and J.B. Odom.
The pallbearers will be Ronald Odom, Gary Odom, Joey Wingo, Troy Mather, and Bob Shook.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Florence Nursing Home & Rehab for the love and care of our family. Also a special, special thanks to Mrs. Bertha Gray for being so good to our mother and sister.
