Barnett, age 91, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock am, Tuesday, May 25th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Zach Vickery officiating.
Burial will follow in Heads Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00PM Monday, May 24th, and again on Tuesday beginning at 10:00AM until the hour of service at 11:00AM.
Mrs. Barnett was born on November 12, 1929 in Robertson County, Tennessee to the late Robert & Alice Gower Ellis. She was a loving and hardworking homemaker; sewed beautiful handmade quilts, and was affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Granny Bee”. She was a member of Oaklawn Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Barnett; infant son, Ennis Richard Barnett; grandson, Landon Ross; and brother, Don Ellis.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by her children, Dianne (Donnie) White, Mark (Paula) Barnett, Jay (Baye) Barnett, and Dell (David) Ross; brothers & sisters, Marjorie June (Stanley) Crutcher, Evangeline Clinard, Robert Bell Ellis, Dimple Balthrop, Welbur Ellis, Joe Bailey (Jerri) Ellis, Bonnie Balthrop, and Jewel (Frances) Ellis; grandchildren, Derrick (Jana) White, Allison (David) Benham, Matthew Akin, Alan (Jessica) Barnett, Emily (Andrew) Gordon, Jay Von (Monica) Barnett, Megan (Josh) Shepard, Jake Barnett, Preston Barnett, Rachel Barnett, Hannah Barnett, Wesley (Emily) Ross, and Austin Ross (Logan Haley); fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
The family wishes to say a special “Thank You” to Amber, Doris, & Maria of Adoration Hospice for their loving care & support.
