Ernest Crook, Jr. age 77 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night at his residence. He was born June 4, 1942 to his parents, the late Ernestine and Ila Mai Clayton Crook. Junior was a Baptist, Truck Driver and a U.S. Army and National Guard Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Crook of Smithville; children, Cathy Crook and Ernie Crook both of Smithville; step-son, Jonathan Pedigo of Smithville; 3 step-grandchildren, Payton, Luke and Robert; sister, Linda Vickers of Woodbury; 2 brothers, Don (Carol) Crook of Smithville and Tim Crook of Liberty. The funeral arrangements for Junior are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by DeKalb Funeral Chapel.
