Ernest Burton Caldwell, age 88, passed away on December 03, 2020, at TriStar Summitt Medical Center in Hermitage.
Ernest was born on July 04, 1932, in Big Pine, NC to his late parents McKinley and Lela Griffin Caldwell. He served his country in the United States Army. He spent 30 years working with General Motors in Michigan. After retirement he moved to Tennessee.
A service will be held on Monday December 7, 2020, beginning at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends the same day from 12:00 pm until service. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum in Columbia, TN. Derek Crawford will be officiating the service.
Ernest is preceded in death by his of more than 50 years, wife Helen Caldwell and his daughter, Denise Elaine Golob
Ernest is survived by his daughters: Debra (Alan) Crawford of Columbia, TN, Donna Darlene (Howard) Guinn of Belleville, MI; grandchildren: Melissa (Sean) McAdam, Jason (Sarah) Smith, Derek (April) Crawford, Amy (Larry) Burns, Devon (Sal) Martorelli, Jared (Chelsea) Fraunfelter and David Golob. He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Harvest Food Share.
