Ernest Allen Davis, 86, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born November 9, 1937 to the late Audie Preston Davis and the late Baby Ruth Davis Davis. He was a member of Tilden Church of Christ. He was a member of the National Guard. He worked with the Mississippi Highway Department, Tombigbee Electric Power Association, Marine Sales and Service, service manager at Ottis Moore’s Chevrolet and self employed for a number of years. He was a volunteer fireman for 37 years which included full time fireman, serving as Captain for several years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and enjoyed antique cars, fishing, traveling, and gardening. He also served on the TEPA Board of Directors for 9 years. He generously gave his time and resources to others.
Services will be 11:00 am on Thursday April 11, 2024, at Senter Funeral Directors with visitation beginning at 10:00 am Thursday. Bro. Jeff Bates will be officiating. Burial will be at Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his Wife of 66 years, Martha Davis of Fulton, MS, Sister, Ellaween Harvey of Fulton, Nephew, Steven (Kristan) Truelove, great nephew, Will Truelove, great nephew, Sam Truelove, Nephew, Chris Harvey, Nephew, Jerry (Rosaland) Davis, Nephew, Greg (Tangie) Davis, Nephew, Mike (Sharon) Davis, Nephew, David Lewis (Diana) Davis of Crowley, TX, Niece, Susan (James) Waddle, sister-in-law, Shirley Davis, several extended family members.
Preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Twila Ford, Audie Ray Davis, James Lewis Davis, Fred Davis, special niece, Tammie Griffin, brother-in-law, John Truelove, sister-in-law, Gean Truelove.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Greg Davis, Mike Davis, David Davis, Glen Brown, Michael Tilghman, Doug Smith.
