Erma Howell, 92, of Rogersville passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2026. Mrs. Howell was born to Robert and Louella Crayton Haney on January 19, 1934 in Rogersville, Alabama. She attended East End High School in Rogersville and later received her diploma from Washington High School in 1971 while living in Los Angeles. She and L.C. moved out West after marrying on December 26, 1957. In the summer of 1972, Mrs. Howell became a baptized Jehovah Witness. While living in California, she worked at LAX Airport. After her retirement she worked for International Rectifiers and became an active supporter of LA Unified School District. Erma’s greatest joys in life included, working around her house, her garden and her only son; Tony.
A visitation will be held at Rogersville Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7th from 11-11:30 a.m. with a memorial service following in the chapel.
Mrs. Howell is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louella Crayton Haney; her husband of 61 years, L.C. Howell. She is survived by her son, Tony M. Howell; daughter-in-law, Julie Fletcher-Howell; and numerous members of extended family members and a host of friends.
The family would like to express a heart-felt thanks to Dr. Jorge Diaz, Dr. Vijay Jampala, Dr. Ebrahim Khan and Sandy Michelle Coburn, RN for the acre they provided to Mrs. Howell.
