Erice Williams Turberville – Obituary

Erice Williams Turberville, 89, of Cherokee, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, after a brief illness. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia, with funeral service following in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Kim Teehan will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

She was an active member of the Margerum Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the board. She also was active in their Circle of Joy, the Riverton Rose Trail Association, having served as treasurer, and the Homemakers Club. She was a former election official in Colbert County and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Hepburn Turberville, Sr., and her parents, Fred and Carrie Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy T. Belue (Larry); her son, Howard H. Turberville, Jr. (Brenda); five grandchildren, Shon, Ryan, and Saige Turberville, Jennifer B. Janus, Jessica B. Buckley; and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves a special friend and cousin, N. Sue Hamm, a close nephew, Larry M. Turberville, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be David T. Buckley, John A. Locker, Jr., Larry Joe Hayes, Larry Parker, Brandon Deaton, and Darryl Deaton. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott A. Janus, Johnny Hayes, and Clayton Waddell.
