Eric Wayne Mitchell left this earth to be comforted in the peaceful presence of God on March 4, 2014. During his final days, he surely felt the love of his family and friends who were by his side throughout his valiant fight to stay with us. All who knew him will miss his kind, compassionate nature and his friendship. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Eric’s memory to an educational fund for his son, Jonathan Mitchell, established at Redstone Federal Credit Union.
Visitation for Eric will be on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Brother Jeff Sellers and Brother Spencer Faulkner are officiating.
Eric is preceded in death by his father, L. Wayne Mitchell.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan Kyle Mitchell; his mother, Shirley Seibert; stepmother, Sue Mitchell; brother, Kirt Mitchell, nephew, Chris Mitchell; sister, Michele Mitchell Strickland (Jimmy), niece, Sydney Strickland and nephew, Clay Strickland; brother, Stephen Mitchell (Becky), nieces, Cameron Allen and Riley Mitchell; and many aunts and uncles.
