Eric Daniel Clark, a friend, a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, and most of all a brother in Christ, was peacefully called home by God this past Friday, October 22, 2021, at the far too young age of 37. Eric is survived by his parents, Laurie Clark and Al Frazier, and Chuck and Sherree Clark; his siblings, Chris and Holly Clark and Kate Seitz; his grandparents, Brownie and Peggy Nelson; his extended family on the Morse side, as well as his extended family on the Echols side. He was predeceased by his uncle, Don Clark, and his grandparents, George and Jean Clark.
Eric was born on January 28, 1984, to Chuck and Laurie Clark, and was a life-long resident of Huntsville, Alabama. Eric grew up on the soccer and baseball fields of McGucken Park, where he was an outstanding athlete at both sports, and around the age of 12, traded in the dirt and grass on the fields for the concrete and bleachers, which he then turned into his own personal skateboard park for he and his friends. Eric loved to skate and was extremely good at it despite numerous broken bones throughout his youth.
Eric then attended Grissom High School, where he continued following his passion for skateboarding. In his 20’s, Eric enrolled in Teen Challenge, a yearlong Christian-based discipleship program, where Eric not only found the Lord for the first time in his life, but became absolutely on fire for God, and the scriptures. This led to Eric graduating Teen Challenge and continuing to share God’s word with any and all who would listen, including family, friends, churches, enemies, and strangers. He gave his testimony to multiple church groups, which eventually lead to him becoming a youth pastor at a local church in North Alabama, where he continued to share his personal story and bring multiple youths to Christ. Eric kept God’s Word close to his heart though the good times and the bad, up until the Lord called him home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 27th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Jason Parks officiating.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the local men’s chapter of AL Teen Challenge at the link provided www.alatc.org/give
