Emma S. Mitchell, 97, of Huntsville, passed away Friday. She was born, raised, and lived in Huntsville all of her life. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Huntsville, avid bridge player, loving mother, and caring grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband H.O. “Mitch” Mitchell, daughter Nancy K Mitchell, parents Katie and Charles Savas, and siblings Theodore Savas and Doris Neville.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Mitchell Newman (Greg); grandsons, Patrick and Chris Newman; and multiple nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Signature HealthCARE of Whitesburg Gardens for their excellent care of her the past two and a half years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 15th at Maple Hill Cemetery.
