Emma “Louise” Merryman (Cantrell), age 81, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017, after a lengthy illness.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Rusty Hills of Chase Park Church of Christ will be officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield, AL Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

Louise was born in Sheffield on April 12, 1935 to the late Felix and Edna Davis Cantrell. Louise graduated from Sheffield High School and continued on to receive her RN degree from St. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing, Nashville, Tennessee.

Louise worked as a RN for 38 years. She was also a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her four children,Tony Merryman of Huntsville, Alabama, Jeannette (Tom, Jr.) Lundborg of Brentwood, Tennessee, Russell (Kay) Merryman of New Market, Alabama, and Charles Merryman of Charlotte, North Carolina; her six grandchildren, Ryan Merryman, Thomas Lundborg, III, Andrew Lundborg, Erica (John) Kamau, Michael Merryman and Paige Merryman; and one great grandchild, Lillian Kay; and sister, Margaret Smitherman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alton Cantrell and her sisters, Jeanette Rudy and Geneva (Bit) Barry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the National Kidney Foundation.
