Emily Ann Marks – Obituary

Emily Ann Marks, 16, of St. Joseph, passed away December 31, 2016 at Children’s

Hospital in Birmingham, after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. She was a junior at Loretto High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, member of Beta Club, Gold Record Club, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), SGA ( Student Government Association), MIA (Mustangs in Action), and Vice President of the Junior Class.

Survivors include:

Parents: Michael Anthony Marks and Barbara Ann King Marks

Brother: Michael Anthony Marks, Jr.

Maternal Grandparents: P. L. and Barbara King

Paternal Grandparents: M. L. and Marcella Marks

Uncles: Paul (Ellen) King

Harold (Pam) King

Henry (April) King

Mitch (Priscilla) Marks

Aunts: Katy (Jay) Thomas

Felicia (Jay) Gieske

Numerous loving cousins

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 2, from 2:00-8:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The Rosary Service will be at 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 11:00 A.M at St. Joseph (TN) Catholic Church with Father Luckas Arulappa officiating. Burial will be St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Paul King, Harold King, Henry King, Mitch Marks, Jay Thomas, Andrew Shelton, Jay Gieske, and Jake Gieske.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Alyssa Reddy, Jessica Edmondson and all the nurses and staff at Children’s Hospital and to all of the doctors and nurses at Infant’s & Children’s of Florence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Sacred Heart School.

Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

I am so sorry for you loss. Everyday that I seen Emily here in the clinic lobby, she brightened my day. She was and is such a beautiful angel. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
