Emalyn J. Pinkerton, age 98 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Stones River Manor surrounded by her family. She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Henry Grady Jackson and Ida Jeanette Holt Jackson. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Clay “Scoot” Pinkerton and Nathaniel “Nat” Pinkerton; a sister, Ann Jackson Huckaba; brothers, Wayne Jackson and Henry Grady “Stokey” Jackson; and son in law, John Allen Center, who was like a son to Emalyn.
Survivors include a son, Clay “Jackie” Jackson and wife Hope of Bonneau, SC; a daughter, Linda Center of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Clay Pinkerton of Myrtle Beach, SC and John Center and wife Nancy of Rockvale, TN; great grandchildren, Emalyn “Emmy” Center and Katherine “Kate” Center; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was a faithful member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired in 1990 from the underwriting department at State Farm after thirty seven years of service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Woodfin Funeral Chapels and a memorial service for Mrs. Pinkerton will be held at a later date.
