Elvis Royce Green, age 90 of Huntland, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fransico, Alabama on April 19, 1936, to the late Herman E. and Eugenia Green. A proud veteran, for twenty-six years Elvis served his country in the United States Army. He then worked for Murray State University as the Rifle Team Coach and Inventory Manager until the time of his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, Elvis enjoyed being on the farm tending to his cows and driving his tractor, as well as hunting and fishing. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his precious grandchildren. Elvis was a devoted member of Beechgrove Community Church. His love of country, family, and God shown through his loving nature as he was a great friend and hero to all that knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anneliese Green; twin brother, Elvin Green; siblings, Mabry Green, Milfred Green, Janice Miller, Charlotte Ray, and Ethelene Devers; son-in-law, Dwight Howell Sr; grandson, Dwight Howell Jr; granddaughter, Jennifer Hicks; and great-great-grandson, Lincoln Barber. Elvis is survived by his loving children, Patricia Howell, Melissa (Chris) Dodd, and Michael Love; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren with one on the way. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
