Elvis Roosevelt Daniel, age 82 of Jasper, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 28, 2017.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Curry Cemetery. Rev. Joe Daniels and Rev. Bruce Carswell will officiate.

Elvis was a very hardworking man, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Elvis was born April 27, 1935 in Winston County, Alabama. He worked as a mason for over 50 years. Elvis loved life and lived life to the fullest. He loved working on cars, spending time with family and petting his beloved dog Izzy.

Elvis was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Daniel; father, John Weldon Daniel; mother, Novis Daniel; brothers, Elmer Daniel, Doyce Daniel and Junior Daniel and sister, Jeanette McMillian; grandparents, Fletcher Cleghorn and Desser Cleghorn, Authur Daniel and Annie Daniel.

Elvis is survived by his and his wife Margaret’s six children, David Daniel, Nathan Daniel (Emma), Linda Odom, Sue Snow (Larry), Lisa Snow (Barry) and Donald Daniel; his very special friend, Mildred Waid. He is also survived by a host of 11 grandchildren, Donna Harten (Shannon), Daniel Ashby (Melissa), Dewayne Daniel, Ray Daniel, Crystal Key (Brad), Brandon McGough (Yolanda), Phillip McGough (Megan), Derick Snow, Rebecca Aaron (Josh), Sarah Daniel and Charlie Daniel and 16 great grandchildren, Deonna, Johnathon, Shiann, Savannah, Lucy, Dannah, Kylee, Kyson, Chase, Tucker, Sarah Madison, Annabeth, Ava, Lily, Leelan and Baby Farley; sisters, Trisha Spears and Jennie Lawson; brothers, Rayford Daniel, Raymond Daniel, Jerry Daniel and Joe Daniel.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Ashby, Dewayne Daniel, Ray Daniel, Brandon McGough, Phillip McGough, Derick Snow, Charlie Daniel and Johnathon Harten.
John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
