Elva N. “Sis” Jones, 88, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Vina, AL to John Seaman Nichols and Lula Derverlin Emerson Nichols. Elva worked at Generations of Red Bay as a cook for twenty-six years and was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church. She loved all her babies and loved to garden, making sure all the weeds were pulled everywhere she went.
Services will be Monday, February 2, 1 p.m. at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 11-1 p.m. at Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Single Springs Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Tula Bates (Joe), Gary Jones, Jeff Jones (Kelly), Brett Jones and Bretta Jones Brindley (Steve); grandchildren, April Bates, Jason Bates, Jamie Jones, Kayce Jones, Courtney Jones, Eric Jones, Monica Morrow, Chrissy Lewey, Jessica Vinson, Keesha Makepeace, Clint Holcombe, Chad Holcombe, Synjon Jones, Susannah McCalpin and Joshua Wigginton; one brother, Joe Hammock; thirty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Casey Tulon Jones; a son, Thomas Jones; her parents and three brothers, Delmer Nichols, John Nichols and Jack Hammock.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Bates, Jalen Vinson, Jaxon Vinson, Aaron Lewey, Aiden Lewey and Jacob Reno.
