Elva Doris Watkins Cole, 72, of Florence, Ala., went to her heavenly home Wednesday May 11, 2016. Public viewing will be today from 1-8 p.m. at Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Sheffield. The funeral service for Mrs. Cole will be Monday, May 16, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Armstead Chapel Church, Florence. Mrs. Cole will lie in repose one hour before the funeral service. Officiating will be Pastor Cassandra Weakley.
Mrs. Cole was retired from the Lauderdale County Health Department after 17 years of loyal service. Elva was a member of Armstead Chapel for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rister and Anne Watkins; loving husband of 50 years, Sunny D. Cole; and brother, Pastor Adlai Coffee.
Survivors include sons, Victor Cole (Annetta), Anthony Cole (Avis); honorary daughter, Latoya Cole; grandchildren, Shynee Cole, Nicolas Allen; brother, Donald Coffee; sisters, Martha Butler (Roosevelt), Louise Roberson, Judy Williams and Teresa Smith; a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
