Elton Ray Mason – Obituary

EltonElton Ray Mason, 80, of Rogersville died Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 at his residence.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lauderdale County High School, a veteran of the United States Air Force, Air National Guard, Army Reserves and graduated from Muscle Shoals State Technical College. Mr. Mason was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Athens and retired from Reynolds Metal Company of 33 years.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 26th from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, June 27th at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Athens with Father Charley Alookaran officiating and David Mason will be delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Dean-McNairy Cemetery, Rogersville, AL.
Elton was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Mason, Annie Bell Dean and Rebecca Aline Mason; brother, Charles Edward Mason. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Alicia Ruiz Mason; loving children, Sandra Mason Siegel, Richard (Susan) Mason, Carol Mason (Keith) Nesmith and Norman Edward (Mark Chapman) Mason; grandchildren, Nicholas & Benjamin Siegel, Daniel Mason, Savannah, Shelby & Ryan Nesmith; siblings, Carolyn Clemons, Judy Box, Linda (Dearl) Belue, James Mason, Tommy (Sherry) Mason, David (Judy) Mason, Donnie Mason and Bobby (Diane) Mason; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lyman Mitchell and staff, Pam Hill, CRNP, staff of Hospice of TN Valley, Sandra Holland, Sue Mills, Joann Clark and Violet Grant and special caregivers, Virginia Lovell, Mary Lovell, Linda Patton and Sandra Pendergrass for their compassionate care.
