Elsie Mitchell Hamilton Profile Photo Mrs. Elsie Mitchell Hamilton, age 87, wife of Jimmy Hamilton, a resident of Spring Hill, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Turnbow officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born on March 13, 1939, in McDowell, Kentucky, Elsie was the daughter of the late Harman Mitchell and the late Frankie Elliott Mitchell. On July 27, 1957, she married the love of her life, Jim, and together they shared nearly 69 wonderful years of marriage.

Elsie was an exceptional cook who found great joy in hosting others in her home, and she loved teaching young women how to cook and can fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School, where her love for children shone through. A faithful Christian, Elsie read the Bible more times than she could count and was known as a devoted prayer warrior. She was a member of First Assembly of God (C1) in Columbia. Elsie will be remembered for her sharp mind, remarkable memory, unwavering faith, and the genuine love and kindness she shared with everyone she met.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Larry (Brenda) Hamilton, grandchildren, Larry (Nellie) Hamilton, Amanda (Jason) Gleyze, James (Marisa) Hamilton, Melissa Cummings, Sarah Lollie, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchild, Ryder Bell, and siblings, Thurman Mitchell, Harman Mitchell, Tommy Mitchell, Philip Mitchell, and Brenda Paige.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Hamilton, granddaughter, Jennifer Hamilton, brothers, John William Mitchell, Earnest Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell, Lawrence Mitchell, Forrest Mitchell, Lark Mitchell, Larry Douglas Mitchell, Bill Mitchell, and sisters, Betty Jean Mitchell, Magalene Horn, Stella Parks, Mary Stone, Elva Elliott, Goldie Packett, Judy Martin, Dale Elliott, Alpha Hamilton, Ola Lesage, Sue Newman, and Barbara Ann Mitchell.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Larry Hamilton, James Hamilton, Colton Hamilton, William Paige, and Elijah Hamilton.
