Elsie “MiMi” Wallace – Obituary

Elsie “MiMi” Wallace, age 65, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, October 18, 2012. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Jody Hill and Dr. Don Thomas officiating. The burial will be at Allsboro Methodist Cemetery.

 Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she worked with the youth. The children called her “Miss” Elsie. She always knew when a child needed a hug, new shoes, coat or something for their backpack. She loved each one in a special way and they loved her and knew they were special to her.

She was preceded in death by her father, H.E. “Griff” McVay.

 She is survived by her husband, Raymond Wallace; daughter, Heather Keeton (Neal); granddaughter, Katelin Waldrep; mother, Dorothy McVay; sisters, Elaine Davenport (Tom) and Noreen Parker (Joe); god-granddaughter, Montana Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many very special friends.Pallbearers are Anthony Tank, Johnny Parker, Donny Parker, Jeffrey Whitaker, Lyn Waldrep and Dexter Waldrep.

Honorary pallbearers are Nelson Wallace, Sonny Blackburn, Larry Parker, Luther Bishop, Patrick Curtin and Richard Yeitz.

The family expresses special thanks to all her many friends, a very special thanks to Southerncare Hospice and especially nurse Felicia.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, Inc., 104 South Poplar Street, Florence, Al 35630.
