Elsie Jewell Rutland Henry, 85, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eural Henry.
She is survived by her children, Pam Thompson (Phil) and Thomas R. Henry (Barbara), and her brother, Whit F. Rutland (Bobbie). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Marek (Matt), Laura Carter (Matt), Emily Thompson, Logan Henry (Kayla), and Logan’s mom, Sharon Henry; one stepgrandson, Mike Murphy; as well as five great-grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Marek, Aly and Nathaniel Carter, and John Walker Henry. Mrs. Henry also leaves to cherish her memory several close friends including, Terry, Bill and J. Morgan Harter and Tammi, Sean, Alyssa and Sidney Paden.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 3, 2017, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Ave., Collierville, Tennessee. Interment will follow in Colbert Memorial Cemetery in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Rock Church of Christ, Rt. 1, Tuscumbia, Alabama, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
