Funeral service for Eloise T. Maddox, 85, will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Thompson and Bro. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Maddox died on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 30, 1929, in Morgan County to John Franklin Tanner and Florence Elmer McKee. Mrs. Maddox graduated from Eva High School and from Florence State Teacher’s College with a B. S. degree in Education. She taught Home Economics and Elementary Special Reading in the Morgan County and Hartselle City School Systems for 33 years. She also worked in the Lawrence County Extension Service for 2 years and was a Sunday School Teacher and member of Neel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jack E. Maddox, her parents, a brother: Cecil L. Tanner, and four sisters: Carmon Tanner, Cleo Blackwood, Lois Childers, and Elna Tanner.
Family wishes to extend a special thanks to Jennifer Warren, Rosemary Orr, Carrie Orr, Jackie Orr, Evita Williams, Terry and Gerry Cole, Maxine and Louie Sanford and Thanks to Dr. John K. Irle and to Hospice of the Valley.
